Note :-
If you want to run Our SMS application continuosly for many days or to send large number of messages then we recommend GSM Modems insted of Mobile Phones, because GSM Modems are very stable, also they run directly from power source and do not get heated up after prolonged usage while GSM phones get heated up quickly and its battery also gets discharged quickly when used continuosly for sending messages.
3. Stone Bridge SMS Application supports 3 types of connection:
USB or serial Data cable - This is recommended type of connection because it's stable and fast.
Bluetooth - It's wireless thus very convenient. It's also stable though speed is less than USB or serial cable.
Infrared - It is not recommended because the wireless range is very short and unstable.
You need to install the appropriate driver before using the above types of connections.
4. If a GSM modem is connected through USB to Serial converter (via data cable etc) or via Infrared Port or via Bluetooth, then the port created by USB to Serial converter drivers,Infrared dongle drivers,Bluetooth dongle drivers is known as virtual serial port (since such a serial port is not physically present, it is known as virtual serial port). One can find out the virtual serial port number for the device installed by right clickong on MyComputer then choosing Properties. Under properties Goto Hardware and then Device Manager. Then check the serial ports available by looking under the Modems node.
